DAY TO NIGHT: ZARA SKORT

Ahhhh, heat wave in San Francisco. Being from Southern California, I miss the scorching heat so much. So many people hate it, but 85 and sunny is perfect to me. Since it's been so hot here, I couldn't bring myself to style any looks with sleeves.

But I digress, onto the skort! I know, every blogger has this Skort from Zara, but it really is just so awesome. I have been wanting to style it for awhile, but there were so many possibilities it was hard to choose. Thus, this day to night look happened to show it's versatility not only between time of day to wear it, but different styles too.

I'm really digging the black and white looks that are so popular right now, so I went that direction with the night look and added a punch of neon (and another see through bag). I also want to point out the Sole Society colorblock wedges, they are so great for summer and very affordable! And for day, I am also loving on this blouse from Zara because the print is not too frou frou or girly for a floral. I also can't wear jewelry when it's hot, so I like to stick with a simple necklace.

GIMME EVERYTHING!

BOOK WORM

I am forever in pursuit of the look I like to call "organized clutter". I absolutely adore when people have book shelves, or end tables, that have a mishmosh of knick knacks that somehow all work together.

But I just can't seem to make it work, so tonight I conducted a little bit of research.  Here are some of my favorite findings:

WHAT TO WEAR: WINE TASTING

This weekend me and my friends had a fantastic day trip up to Napa to wine taste. Everytime we go, it's pretty much guaranteed that all the girls will show up in florals and maxi dresses, and I'm not hating, they both are extremely appropriate. Surprisingly, that didn't happen with my own crew, but most other women I saw at the wineries were dressed in just that. To stand out from the crowds tasting pinots and sauvs, try a shift dress with feminine details. Bonus points for beautiful summer colors!

WHAT TO WEAR: BALL GAME

It's officially summertime! And that means its time for one of my favorite summer activities... ball games! While I'm not an overly crazed fan decked out head to toe in Giants gear, I do like to show some spirit while still looking stylish. Old Navy has really great T-shirts for all major league sports. Usually I find the official merchandise to be poor fitting for a woman's body, so I love that other stores are starting to make licensed apparel too. It gets pretty cold in SF at night, plus AT&T park is on the water so it's important to remember a light sweater. I also pass on bringing a bag so I don't need to put it on the sticky floor or worry about it getting spilled on.

Oh and I love that the MLB assumes women want rhinestoned cups. Not saying I hate it though.

POSTGRAD LOVES: POM POMS AND TASSELS

I'm dying for an adventurous vacation. Peru, Bali, Thailand, and the Dominican Republic have been on my mind. And obviously, so are the wardrobes I would need for these trips. First thing that comes to mind: pom poms and tassles. I love how fun they are.

Rocking them is simple. White Tee, Boyfriend Jeans (or distressed shorts), Leather Sandals, and then add a statement piece.

Voila! Vacay Ready.

CROP IT LIKES ITS HOT

I am getting so tired of seeing crop tops and high waisted shorts on everyone. Mostly because it just is not flattering to most body types. Also because somehow the terms "bandeau" and "crop top" have gotten quite confused. I mean really, who looks hot in a denim diaper and lace bra? Needless to say this look wasn't working in college, and definitely isn't working after.

So what to do with your closet full of crops? We still love them! But make sure to balance proportions out with pants or a maxi, and wear them to appropriate places.

We like to get funky with floral pants, a clear bag, and simple accessories.
